Revision as of 18:57, April 17, 2012
Seeing as the first non-teaser Halo 4 trailer has been released recently, and said trailer shows what is clearly the Mk VII Mjolnir being worn by Spartan VI's, i think we should add this new information to this article. If I'm wrong, don't flame me, please. Infernal-Blaze 10:15, 6 March 2012 (EST)
- That is most likely the case, but we still don't know for a fact if it's MJOLNIR the S-IVs are wearing. What if it turns out that they use a different armor series altogether, like the Spartan-IIIs did? Better wait until there's a confirmation. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 10:29, 6 March 2012 (EST)
- Eh, I was expecting that response. Okay, I am nothing if not patient. Infernal-Blaze 11:41, 6 March 2012 (EST)
I agree that it is the Mark VII being worn by both the Chief and S-IVs. But for the sake of keeping speculation off the articles, I'd say we wait until confirmation. ADinoSupremacist
- Actually, they (I think it was Frank) said that John's armour change wouldn't be as drastic as Mk V to VI, so I'm thinking John is wearing modified or upgraded Mk VI, and the S-IVs have Mk VII. That's just what I'm thinking right now, obviously that stays off the page ;) Alex T Snow 05:12, 16 March 2012 (EDT)
Active AI transfer and multiple notes going to one note
What exactly would active AI transfer do? Is that just sending AIs wirelessly, because that was already made a feature in the Mark VI? Or is it what BB mentioned in Glasslands, that he can transfer mission-relevent data straight to her brain?
Also, I know that when you tag multiple things with the same reference, it will all link to one reference; well, how would I do this with multiple notes? (or so it says in the sacred caves) Vegerot! 08:14, 12 March 2012 (EDT)!
- I don't think it's possible. I tried it, and the notes kept showing up under the sources section.--Spartacus Talk • Contribs 10:17 12 March 2012 (EST)
- Crisis averted. —S331 (COM • Mission Log • Profile) 00:50, 5 April 2012 (EDT)
- Regarding "active AI transfer", we see the Chief transferring Cortana into the Covenant bomb at the beginning of Halo 2 through his gauntlet, rather than manually removing the chip from his neural interface. We know from Halsey's journal that shields weren't originally intended for the Mark V, but were moved up to the earlier suit. Perhaps active AI transferral was a feature moved up from the Mark VII to the VI? -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 20:14, 6 April 2012 (EDT)
Too soon?
I find it a bit unusual that the Mark VII came out so soon after the war. July 2552 had the release of the second variant of the Mark V. Then in November the Mark VI comes out with the Mark VII developed possibly in January. Why does it take about 24 years for a new armor system to come out (of course variants during those years came out) then suddenly 4 new systems (1 just a variant) comes out all within a year or so.? --ADinoSupremacist 19:59, 6 April 2012 (EDT)
- Part of the reason is because there was never intended to be a Mark system. Halsey intended the MJOLNIR armor to be one long armor line with upgrades being added as needed. However, the development of the shield system signaled the creation of suit that needed all the previous structure revamped as opposed to earlier failed experiments with shielded Mark IVs. ONI thus retroactively included the earlier MJOLRNIR prototype exoskeletons as part of the MJOLNIR line, labeling them Mark I, II, and III. Thus it made it look like there was a 24 year period with one iteration when they were really all progressive variants more akin to "1.1, 1.2, 1.35, etc." And some of us have suspected the reason for the speeding up of updates armors is because previously there was less of an opportunity to test them. It's hard to run armor tests when unaugmented humans can't wear MJOLNIR and all the Spartans constantly out in the field, unless you suddenly got somebody with some newly gained free time on their hands... - I am vindicated. According to Game Informer, the new armour is just his original Mark VI with a radical reconstruction by Cortana during their time drifting. Exactly as I predicted. 343i, are you stalking me?

- I would say they have to be using Covenant and Forerunner Technololy, just like they did with the Infity. So basically, they are updating so quicly because they are stealing technology. Siul S-249 19:57, 17 April 2012 (EDT)
