*Despite being trained in the use of jetpacks, a Bullfrog will never use his jetpack except when preprogrammed to do so in specific locations. Because of this, it is common for a player to have lost several members of his fireteam to falling by the end of the mission. Similarly, they often jump into large groups of Covenant forces and are quickly killed. This is odd, considering that Bungie could have programmed the Bullfrogs to have the AI similar to that of [[Sangheili Ranger|Elite Rangers]].

Template:Ratings Template:Infobox Military Unit The Bullfrogs are a unit of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers specializing in the use of portable jump-jets. During the Fall of Reach, at least some of the Bullfrogs were stationed at New Alexandria, where they helped SPARTAN-B312 secure an executive landing pad for use in the evacuation of the city.[1]

Trivia

  • The ODSTs are heavily inspired by the Mobile Infantry from Robert Heinlein's novel Starship Troopers. However, the Bullfrogs seem to show particularly strong influence from the novel, as they, like the Mobile Infantry, make extensive use of jetpacks. Also like the Mobile Infantry, the Bullfrogs refer to the use of jetpacks as "bouncing".
