::I'm making a habit of replying to old-ish threads. Anyway, The Fall of Reach covers much, much more than just its namesake. It covers the training of the Spartans, their first few missions together, and, really, most of their lives. So, yeah, it is Sam on the cover. Yeah, or else SPARTAN-058 wouldn't be there either. Vegerot goes RAWR! Vegerot (talk) 15:16, 4 November 2011 (EDT)! | |||

How can you be close to someone when they die? --EliteDeath
- According to the books, John still though of Sam as his "first and only friend" as of 2552. -ED 20:22, 14 September 2006 (UTC)
Deleted speculation that he was still alive. It's confirmed by Halsey in H:FS that he's dead, and there's no way he could've been saved. Honour Light Your Way - File:HalfJaw03.jpg Kora ‘Morhek The Battle-Net My Conquests. 01:31, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Did Samuel-034 earn any medal???
Just contradicting what ED said. Samuel-034 WAS John's 1st friend. But all the SPARTAN-IIs were his friends!Vegerot 20:43, September 3, 2010 (UTC)!!!
Training Section
added some clarification for my previous edit, if the playground isn't used, then might I recommed using "their first exercise." Also, John, Sam, and Kelly weren't assigned together, they were told to fall-in formation and whomever was standing next to them were their partners for the exercise, they were only assigned the next day on a return trip to the playground.--Griffin2002 19:53, 10 June 2009 (UTC)Griffin2002
Sam on Reach cover
It says in the trivia that its speculated to be him but that just makes no sense he died in 2525 but the battle of Reach occurred in 2552, 27 years after his death. Should the trivia about that just be removed or is their any evidence backing up how he'd be at Reach during the covenant attack 27 years after he died.Xxxjeffxxx 12:22, October 22, 2009 (UTC)

Height
I seriously doubt he was 7'6 at the age of 14. =\ --Kluutak 13:54, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
Puberty was self-induced on the trainees(they weren't considered SPARTAN-IIs until they got their augmentations) and also the augmentations made them grow a lot too. So yes he could have very well been 7'6 at that time.Vegerot 20:24, September 3, 2010 (UTC)
