"Rejoice, your Holiness, for we have found the doorway to the relic you spoke of!"
— Commander Wamik

Commander Re'gish Wamik was a Sangheilian Field Master in the Covenant military. He served during the Harvest Campaign in 2531.[1]

Biography

During the final stages of the Harvest Campaign, Wamik commanded the Covenant forces that found the doorway to the newly-discovered Forerunner Relic. He sent a message to the Prophet of Regret informing him of their findings and requesting that he send the Arbiter so that they may open the Relic.[1] When the Arbiter arrived at the site, Re'gish expressed concern that the Flood may be present in the Relic, but the Arbiter, under orders of the Hierarchs, was adamant to have the structure opened.[2]

Trivia

His surname is unusual for a Sangheili, as it is not preceded by an apostrophe; it also has neither the "-ee" suffix, which would signify his military service, nor the "-ai" suffix, which would signify that he is a swordsman. The structure of his name is likely an oversight.
