- "Developed exclusively for the ONI's Beta-5 Asymmetrical Action Group."
- — Description of the Operator helmet.
Operator armor was developed at ONI Ordnance Testing Facility B5D and is used solely by the Office of Naval Intelligence's Beta-5 Asymmetrical Action Group operators. It is compatible with the Mark V MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor.[1]
Two upgrades are available for the helmet. The first, UA/HUL, replaces the standard attachment, which looks similar to night vision goggles (and is present on HAZOP helmet along with its CNM-I), with an Up-Armor plate featuring a Hardened Uplink Module on the left side. The second variant adds a Command Network Module-Improved on the right side of the helmet.
The shoulders are simply armored bands mounted on the user's base shoulder guards, with two string-like attachments descending from the bottom. There is a geometrical pattern emblazoned on the plate as well.
Despite being solely used by the Asymmetrical Action Group, it appears that some components were used by other SPARTANs. Notably, Emile-A239 wore the shoulder piece on his left.
Trivia
- The helmet looks very similar to an updated concept of the MJOLNIR armor drawn by Eddie Smith which is featured in The Art of Halo.
