Prescott was the Chief Engineer of the UNSC Spirit of Fire. An older man with previous military history, Prescott was reactivated for duty by Admiral Cole after the destruction of Harvest. Before that, he was intensely interested in building and racing high-speed cars on Mars, using a pulse-detonation propulsion system.[1] After the removal of the ships FTL Reactor, he determined that fashioning a new one out of existing spare parts was impossible.[2]
