Mu was a continent of Arcadia, a UNSC colony in the Procyon System. After the rest of the planet was abandoned due to the First Battle of Arcadia, a small group of settlers established the rural community of Abaskun, which supplied the UNSC with much needed foodstuffs until the colony was attacked again by the Covenant in 2549.[1]
Trivia
- Mu is likely named after a mythical lost continent of Earth legend, which has been variously placed in the Atlantic or Pacific oceans. Similar to Atlantis, in that its inhabitants were supposed to be the founders of later Egyptian and Mesoamerican civilizations. The lost islands of Lemuria were said to be the peaks of the mountains of Mu. It has been proven geologically impossible for such a continent to exist[2], though some people continue to believe such a tale.
