Nyali was a neighborhood in the city of Mombasa, Kenya,[1] situated in Old Mombasa northeast of Mombasa Island. It was home to Nyali Road, one of the major roads connecting Mombasa Island to the Kenyan mainland. The road passed over a bridge known as Nyali Bridge, which crossed Tudor Creek, one of the two inlets separating the island from the mainland.[2] During the Battle of Mombasa, the bridge was crowded by refugees from the city. Sadie Endesha and Mike Branley made their way over the bridge back to the island in order to save Sadie's father.[1]
