The Overkill Medal is awarded for killing 4 opponents within 4 seconds of each other.
Summary
It is available in all Multiplayer gametypes and has a Bungie difficulty rating of 7 (out of 10). It is represented by a bronze circle with 4 green stars. When someone gets this medal the announcer will shout "Overkill!" to the player that received this medal. In Halo 2, this medal was called Killtacular.
"Overkill" is also an Achievement for Halo 3. An easy way to get this achievement is to play "Swords" on a small map like Snowbound or Epitaph.
You can also get this Achievement by camping with a Rocket Launcher and a few frag grenades in a small map such as Epitaph on a game variant such as Crazy King, Although it is possible to get it on Narrows as well.
An extremely easy way to get this medal is during the popular Assault variant Grifball, where players have Gravity Hammers, Energy Swords, and no shields. Thus, kills are very easy to get, especially if the player spawn kills.
Getting this medal in a Lone Wolves will earn you the Commando Helmet and Ascetic Shoulders for the Elite character, as well as unlock the Overkill Achievement worth 5 Gamerscore.
