Summary

Pelicans are UNSC Dropships. They are called Pelicans due to their ability to carry a large amount of cargo. A standard Pelican can carry up to 10 fully armed Marines. Every Pelican has a name, a letter from the fonetic alphabet followed by a 3 digit number. The ones that appear in Halo 1 are Echo 419, Bravo 022 (not seen), and Victor 933. A Pelican is capable of transporting a Warthog or a Scorpion. Pelicans are occasionally armed with weapons, but it isn't often.

Pelicans move by using compressed air jets on moveable "Wings". The wings rotate and move in order to direct the pelican's flight path, and the backward jets move it forward.

Pelicans cannot be driven by the player, but they can be ridden in.
