The Ranking System in Halo: Reach is based on Credits earned through Forge, Multiplayer, Campaign, and Firefight matches. Credits are earned for every match, and you earn extra credits for medals earned during the match (e.g. Double Kills). There is also a victory bonus when you win. Note that Credits spent on armory purchases do not decrease your rank.
