Template:Ratings Template:New Content Project GUNGNIR was a top-secret UNSC program under the supervision of the Office of Naval Intelligence.[1] The project was first mentioned on a plaque near the outside walkways of the ONI Alpha Site in New Mombasa, Kenya on Earth. Rear Admiral Hieronymus Michael Stanforth had some degree of involvement with the project.
While the project's exact nature is unknown, it is known to have produced many supplementary armor systems, including the GUNGNIR knee guards for the MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor.[2]
Template:Conjecturalization Project GUNGNIR may have overseen the development of the Weapon/Anti-Vehicle Model 6 Grindell/Galilean Nonlinear Rifle, as is supported by the fact that the symbol for Gungnir is located on the side of the Spartan Laser. The weapon's abbreviation, W/A M6 G/GNR, bears a notable resemblance to the name "Gungnir." Like the Spartan Laser, the Gungnir of mythology is an extremely accurate weapon. Trivia
- In Norse mythology, Gungnir ("swaying one") is Odin's magical spear, which is an infallibly accurate weapon.
