He was responsible for the creation of the [[Chopper]], inspired by the humans' tractors found on Harvest.  They were made with parts of [[Rapid Conversion]] and a broken [[Spirit]] dropship, originally meant as a peace offering from him and the Covenant to the UNSC.  His friend, [[Dadab]] feared for both of their lives when he found out about the machines, and wanted them destroyed. When the Brutes found out about the creations, Dadab covered up the fact that they were meant as offerings to man by saying they were offensive vehicles that had yet to gain weapon mounts.  A hive of [[Drones]] that were also on the ship were responsible for turning Lighter Than Some's vehicles into weapons of war, adding the two gun emplacements to its sides.

During his time on [[Rapid Conversion]] he designed and built the [[Chopper]] out of spare parts from a broken [[Spirit]] dropship and [[Rapid Conversion]]. He did so with the intention of presenting it to the humans as an offering, as penance for the death of [[Henry Gibson]], only to have his creation of peace perverted into a machine of war.

He is killed toward the end of the novel Contact Harvest by a group of jealous drones. His death is avenged by his friend, Dadab.

Judging from the way Huragok name their "children," the name "Lighter Than Some" would literally mean that the mixture of gases Lighter Than Some's parents used when constructing it caused a slightly higher than normal buoyancy. When Lighter Than Some was made, if he was a bit bigger then the other Huragok then his name would of been "Larger Than Some".<ref>[[Halo: Contact Harvest]]</ref>
* According to Huragok designation schemes, Lighter Than Some's name literally means that upon inital completion he was more bouyant than other Huragok. <ref>[[Halo: Contact Harvest]]</ref>
