The Generators are of Covenant origin. The name is given in the Halo 2 Official strategy guide during the description of the multiplayer level Burial Mounds and one also appears on the map Relic. Players of Halo 2 have also amusingly given the generators on Burial Mounds the nickname nipples, due to the fact that they are each placed on a mound of dirt making it look like a pair of breasts. These are medium purple devices that are commonly placed throughout Halo 2 levels. There are two parts to the device. The generator itself is an oval like purple box. The second part, which recieves the power and connects it to something else, is a multi-part machine. The purpose of the generator is of course to generate power. They are often found near Covenant encampments.
