Ranger
Ranger is a Halo 3 Meta-Game Achievement. It is earned when the player earns 50,000 points while playing the meta-game on The Ark. This Achievement gives 10 Gamerpoints to the player.
It is represented by a blue circle with a target. It is probably called Ranger because the first section on the level focuses on sniping Covenant enemies; since a ranger acts as a scout of a larger military unit, often armed with mid-to-long range armaments to befit their role. It could also be that the Master Chief and Marines sent in through the atmosphere, are supposed to secure a landing zone for the Forward Unto Dawn. This would make them rangers, or scouts, for lack of a better word.
