The Brute Ultra is the highest rank of the three widespread ranks and as such they are found wearing violet power armor. Because of the intermediate statuses on the Brute ranking ladder these Brutes can usually be found leading at least two Brute Minors and a group of lesser Grunts. But they are also frequently being lead by a higher-ranking Captain or Chieftain. They are lower in rank than a Brute Captain.

The Brute Ultra can be observed to be wielding a wide variant of weapons these include, Spikers, Brute Shots, Carbines and occasionally Particle Beam Rifles, besides the large list of weaponry, Ultras also pilot Choppers as seen on Tsavo Highway. Several have also been seen driving Prowlers on The Covenant.
