The Plasma Battery is the Covenant equivalent to the UNSC Fusion Core. In Halo 3's multiplayer and campaign. The purpose of the Plasma Battery is likely the recharging of plasma-based weaponry. How it operates is currently unknown, pending treaty with Sangheili.
If you look near the base of the closest structure, you can see the Plasma Batteries in a corner.
