Ruwan Ackerson[1] is a hotel concierge in Cleveland in 2552. He used to live in Mombasa, where he had a home and friends. Ruwan was not present when that city was destroyed, but he found himself caught in the midst of the Battle of Cleveland with Myras Tyla. He is seen driving an anachronistic American muscle car with Tyla through Cleveland.

He and Tyla were captured by the Covenant, who demanded from them the Key of Osanalan. Unbeknownst to the aliens the object was fictional; Ruwan and James Ackerson invented the term while playing in their childhood.[2]

Ruwan and Tyla escaped their captors in a torn down Transport Warthog. After evading enemy patrols they were found by UNSC forces and evacuated by Pelican.

Trivia

  • According to an IGN review, the character of "Ruwan" is visually based on Ruwan Jayatilleke, who is the editor of the Halo Uprising series and a vice president of development at Marvel, who also helped in the development of the Halo Graphic Novel.Template:Fact
