- "This new UNSC vehicle has a specialized role: anti-aircraft.The Wolverine's surface-to-air missiles enemy aircraft and buildings, but its virtually defenseless against powerful enemy ground units, so you'll have to protect it. A potent counter-punch to enemy Banshee's and Hornets."
- — GamePro, July Edition
The Wolverine is a United Nations Space Command ground-based anti-aircraft battery in Halo Wars designed to eliminate Banshees and other airborne Covenant units such as Spirit Dropships
Because the Wolverine has only been the subject of a few seconds of gameplay footage, and little explanation, it is presumed that they are used in an Air Defense Role, intercepting Covenant air support fighters to prevent bombing runs against UNSC ground forces and emplacements.
