I'm just not computer smart. I just added all the Halo 3 Medals yesterday. That took close to 3 hours. I was acknowledged for it too. So i think that was pretty big. First off we've all said something to sombody on their talk page about another user. Does that mean that you are going to threaten every one of us when we do it? Just because he was banned doesn't give you the right to critisize HIS opinions. Second, you can't ban people, admins can ban. Last I checked you weren't an admin bucko, so stop bluffing. Third, if I remember correctly blank threats of banning to a vandal, or in this case a repentant vandal, is a bannable offence (see Halopedia Code of Conduct) and I'm sure you don't want that surfacing. If you knew me you would understand why I wrote my message with the tone I took and used my choise words. But you don't know me on a personal level and you never will. As for a ban, don't you think it would be rather futile? Dial-up in this case is both a blessing and a curse. The curse is the slow load times. The blessing is the fact that the IP for me has been known to change for no apparent reason. In addition I have access to quite a bit of computers. However, there's some sort of conflict that I've only catched onto 'cuz I've been out of state for most of last week, and I don't want this to irreparably tarnish anyone's reputation here. May I? ;-) So, it looks like this Uncivil fellow rather acted uncivilly and insulted Phil.e. and ED, and then you (rightfully) stepped in for them and threatened Uncivil with a ban, and then Uncivil got all pissed, and ED banned Uncivil. Now, S1138 is getting all mad at you. Umm...this is my personal opinion as a Halopedian to another Halopedian. I'll be frank, because otherwise, I'd be wasting your time. While your actions to Uncivil were a bit rough, I don't think they were too out of line (unless I missed something ;D), but you might just want to pacify Spartan1138 by making a public statement saying that you're apologizing for going a bit too far with trying to get Uncivil to act civilly...but Spartan1138's denouncements of you are a bit too bar (unless I missed something ;D). As far as I'm concerned the matter is closed. Uncivil ban's is not permanent, and so he is free to return and act civilly when it ends. Spartan 1138 appears to be a friend of Uncivil, who believes I baited him into getting banned. This is false. I noticed a talk post of Uncivil's, saw his name was somewhat familiar to a vandal whose handywork I had reverted, and checked his contributions. There I noticed his personal attacks towards other users. I am not on any kind of vendetta, and this comment about it being 15 days after said attacks before I warned him is just nonsensical. I checked his talk page, saw that noone had warned him yet, so I took the opportunity. I acted forcefully due to the fact he is a known vandal, but he overreacted. His reply to my warning (above) revealed that he had not learnt from the banning of his old account, so I was again, forceful in my reply. There were plenty of opportunities for Uncivil to back down, but he does not believe he did anything wrong. I would also like to point out that although Uncivil did not break U.S. law, as Spartan 1138 so eloquently put above, he did violate Halopedia's and Wikia's policies regarding civility and personal attacks. Halopedia and Wikia must abide by U.S. law, but are free to implement their own policies for users on their sites. I have noticed discussion about this matter on numerous other talk pages, and if other users would like to comment, please feel free to do so below. -- Manticore Talk | CSV 20:15, 31 May 2007 (UTC) I'll discuss with the staff about the legalities of all this stuff...but from my understanding, U.S. users must abide by certain U.S. laws, Australian users must abide by certain Australian laws, but other laws, such as those regarding freedom of speech, are restricted because Wikia is an independent private (cyber) property. The CoH is the only thing I'm in charge of, so it's the only way i can credit them. If you just type what you want into the box and press "SEARCH", the query will return as a failure. You need to select the article you want from the dropdown box.
