The 5th Platoon was a United Nations Space Command Marine unit stationed aboard the UNSC Pillar of Autumn. It was to secure the airlocks of Deck 11 of the Pillar of Autumn during the Covenant boarding action None of the Marine soldiers survived, pertaining to the later message that was sent out that Deck 11 was breached.
