The Guardian of the Luminous Key was a member of the Covenant whose arrival at Alpha Halo was being awaited by the Covenant forces stationed there during Halo: Combat Evolved. A mention of him was found in a Covenant message by Cortana in Halo: First Strike.[1]
As of 2007 it remains unclear whether he arrived at the ring and what his mission there was intended to be.
