The M19-B Surface-to-Air Missile Launcher, commonly shortened to M19-B SAM Missile Launcher, is a heavy ordnance weapon used by the UNSC. The M19-B Surface-to-Air Missle Launcher fires high-powered surface-to-air missiles. The weapon was deployed in limited numbers for UNSC ground forces in the 2540's and early 2550's. However, they were not as widely used as their counterpart model, the M19 SSM Rocket Launcher.
This weapon was used by SPARTAN-III Alpha and Beta Companies. It is for the most part ineffective against a Covenant Seraph-class starfighter but effective against a Banshee.[1]
Trivia
- It is most likely a variant of the M19, due to the M19-B designation.
- It is available for use in the first part of the Halo: Custom Edition "Custom Map Team" version of the map Halo (Halo: Combat Evolved Level).
- The M19-B was originally going to be in Halo:CE, but was permanently cut from the trilogy. [verification needed]
