Dragonclaws writes: If you're reading this, you obviously know what Halo is, but you can't really know Halo unless you learn it's secrets. But how can one trust a wiki? Surely some crazy could come in and troll the entire place up. Well... they could, but they wouldn't get too far. Halopedia is guarded by rabid watchdog like fans who are constantly watching the Recent Changes page to check for the slightest error, either grammar or factual. Okay, that's a bit exaggerated. On the show last week, Relevance brought up Halopedia, “the other Halo wiki.” He thought for some reason that it was a dirty word (like maybe not being allowed to say “Podtacular” on air). In what Brathnok considers the highlight of the interview, I said “and besides, Halopedia is down.” After a pause so perfect in length I think he must have planned it, Relevance said “I was there today.” Owned.
So, he’s brought the link to my attention: it is not halopedia.org as I had thought; though to restore my manhood I should note that it used to be. It’s been reborn as halo.wikia.com, though I’m confused as to why because that doesn’t have the same ring to it.
To dispel further rumors, halowiki.net <3s Halopedia. There, I even said it in IMspeak for you. Halopedia is a wiki about the story of Halo, while halowiki.net is a “Halo 2 multiplayer repository” (emphasis added. To, um, emphasize). I should actually carouse over there once I’m done reading the Halo trilogy and graphic novel, now that I’ve actually finished Halo 2’s campaign.
Also, Halopedia links to us. Not only that, but it gave the Clan of Bobs its resident Mexican.
Update: After looking around a bit, it seems like Halopedia had hosting issues (they couldn’t afford the bandwidth), so they went to Wikia, which offers free hosting for wikis. Seems like a nice place, except for the ads (which you’d have to put up with on any free site).
