Go to Bungie.Net and download a variant called flamethrowers. Then play it and you start out with a [[Flamethrower]]. If you drop the flamethrower, then you have no weapon. This does not work on maps like [[Last Resort]], where you can't forge a flamethrower.

The No Weapon glitch is found in both Halo 2 And Halo 3. It is a good tool for Machinima as it makes you drop the weapon that you have, and if you don't have a secondary weapon, you will have no weapon. This is great to do while shooting a Machinima or video as it will remove part of your HUD. This glitch works in both Halo 2 and Halo 3.

How to do it in Halo 2

  1. The game type must be set to an objective type, such as Oddball, Capture The Flag, or an Assault game.
  2. You can have only one weapon and that is a Plasma Pistol, no secondary weapon.
  3. Charge up the Plasma Pistol and walk up to the Oddball, Flag, or Bomb.
  4. Pick up the Objective item while keeping the Plasma Pistol charged.
  5. Drop the Objective item quickly and you should be holding no weapon.

How to do it in Halo 3

  1. Start a Forge game with at least two players.
  2. Have one player enter Monitor mode and spawn a weapon.
  3. Have player two pick the weapon up and at the same time have player one delete it.

Note: You must be very quick when doing this.

Note: Even though your weapon is gone you're still in a combat pose, you can lower your weapon but the game will still think you have a weapon so you will look like you have an invisible weapon. For this reason machinima makers that want realism should use an Energy Sword.

Alternative

Go to Bungie.Net and download a variant called flamethrowers. Then play it and you start out with a Flamethrower. If you drop the flamethrower, then you have no weapon. This does not work on maps like Last Resort, where you can't forge a flamethrower.
