Role:

Identifying star systems for occupation

The Expansion Authority is a UNSC organizational body responsible for identifying suitable star systems for human occupation. It is classified Top Secret Level Two.

History[edit]

The Expansion Authority was mentioned by Rear Admiral Serin Osman in an ONI Internal Intelligence Finding on January 19, 2554, when awarding Veta Lopis a Military Star in recognition of her leadership during Operation: RETRIBUTION. It was noted that because the Expansion Authority was classified Top Secret Level Two, informing Lopis of her award would violate the UNSC Secrets Act of 2504.[1]

Duties[edit]

Because of its classified nature, it is likely that the Expansion Authority is a post-war UNSC initiative aimed at recolonizing lost worlds or expanding beyond the borders of the original Outer Colonies. It is likely classified because of political ramifications for humanity's peace treaties with ex-Covenant species, though it could have existed prior to the end of the war.
