Chaefka, also known as tusk beasts or neldoruut, are omnivorous mammalians similar in stature to Earth's polar bears. Found on Installation 00 and several planets, chaefka use their white fur to camouflage themselves in arctic environments while hunting, and they have the unique ability to produce psychotropic pheromones to confuse their prey. Curiously, chaefka could be found across thousands of planets in the Milky Way even before the Forerunners had mastered space travel, prompting the lifeworkers to study them extensively. However, the research never revealed any profound secrets about the species origins, although the study of their pheromones did lead to some unintentional advancements in the Forerunners' understanding of biology.
