Nomination
I, CommanderTony, nominate Forerunner for adminship at Halopedia.
Nominee, please accept or defer the above nomination below this line.
Reason for nomination
As of today April 9th, 2010, Halopedia has honorably discharged four users from their prestigious positions as Administrator on the basis of inactivity. On that same day, I hope to begin the process to add four more users into our ranks.
All four members that will be given candidacy not only have the backing of myself, but also the good majority of Administrators that still remain. These users are exceptional in many of the same ways that most Administrators earn their rights, but also stand out as distinct individuals all with their very own unique flavor on how things get done and need to get done. In the months ahead, Halopedia will begin it's efforts to strive forward to a quality that has, quite frankly, never been with us. Together with these candidates, i'm sure the Administration and all Halopedians will benefit in this glorious endeavor (epic/melodramatic speech FTL). To put it simply, these users are some of the best writers, counter-vandalism users, and community members...and their contributions in the future will expand Halopedia's popularity, truthiness, and influence on the Halo community as a whole.
That is why I am nominating Forerunner to become an Administrator of Halopedia.
Rawr,

- Support - Although somewhat weak, a support nonetheless. I suppose I just didn't expect Forerunner to be nominated, mainly because recently he has not been the most active. However, taking past contributions into consideration, I come to the conclusion that Forerunner is admin worthy. - File:Black Mesa.jpg|28px]] Halo-343 (Talk) (Contribs) (Edits) 18:34, April 10, 2010 (UTC)

Neutral - I'm just not sure about this one. I'm leaning towards a weak support, but I just don't think Forerunner is exactly cut out for adminship, but I'm not in direct opposition either, so I'm going to stay neutral unless I have a good reason to say otherwise. - File:Black Mesa.jpg|28px]] Halo-343 (Talk) (Contribs) (Edits) 13:36, April 10, 2010 (UTC)- Neutral - Im just not so sure about this. I have heard good things about Forerunnerbut I am not sure. Im not opposing this Forerunner so take no offense you seem like a great guy. I may go with a support on this one though. Its tough though. As just look at it. 4 Admins were just let go of there jobs.--Haloman101 02:16, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

If im right forerunner was blocked year ago and so has per the policity he cant be an admin. CF0UoH/A Company|0]]1 03:35, April 10, 2010 (UTC)
- "No history of vandalism or abuse of Halopedia for the user in question, and no history of compromised accounts for the user in question...No history of blocking on the basis of harassment or personal attacks."
- — Requests for adminship requirements
- The blocks that Forerunner has received during his time on Halopedia in the two years have been short in nature and more often than not, been removed shortly after. Though he did receive an unfortunate block early on for a personal attack and suspected sockpuppetry, his actions since then have far balanced out his actions in the past, a past in which the Administration is willing to overlook on the matter. User:CommanderTony/Sig
- If anyone wants to know any more about that, I enquired about this rule last year, but it was confirmed to me that since I hadn't been banned for any actions considered vandalism or spam. I admit that I do possess a second account; Chief2552, but that was only due to a problem on my home computer in which, after selecting a different wikia skin, I was unable to click on certain links including [Edit] and the "Skins" option of the Preferences. The most "offensive" any of my edits have gone close to, was removing a comment by Guesty-Persony-Thingy who was whining about that we should use the Christian calendar because he goes to church - to be honest, Tony removes loads of those anyway. Just clearing that up before any of you assume that I'm some giant troll with the power of internet hypnoticism; I'm sure that was how RelentlessRecuscant became Admin *pause for laughs*. Good bye *smile and wave*.-- Forerunner 13:43, April 10, 2010 (UTC)
About the first comment. If forerunner was actually banned it could of been an accident. You know that once happened to me here and many other sites.--Haloman101 03:02, April 11, 2010 (UTC)
Questions
Nominee, if you accept the nomination, please answer the following questions. It is advised that voters check the nominee's responses before voting.
1. When did you join Halopedia?
- September 14th, 2006 - I had made a number of edits to the (I think) Pelican article, but I required an account to upload images. I had been on Halo.wikia since June or July of that year, going from before to during and after the "Great Halopedia move".
2. What do you believe are your most valued contributions to Halopedia?
- There have been quite a few of these, though the only one I can think of right now would be Thel 'Vadamee, just after me and User:ONI recon 111 read a 'certain page' of Halo: The Cole Protocol. As we had both received the novel before the release date, we quite literally broke the news to the world.
3. What do you believe are your most valued technical contributions to Halopedia?
- I believe my templates have become valuable among the community. The "Brutes" and "Elites" templates finally put order onto the pages in the early years, as we finally started making characters more accessible from related characters. However, I believe that my most important recent contribution was the inclusion of the easy to use, frakin' hard to add, "Template:Convert" and its literally dozens of subtemplates designed to make turning feet into centimetres.
4. What do you believe are your most valued contributions to the community?
- I like to think that I have helped enforce some of Halopedia's policies. I was one of the reasons why we have some of the HotM rules, after RelentlessRecuscant (What? Him Again?) tried to have me permanently banned for suspected sockpuppetry (Déjà vu), because he didn't believe that people could actually vote for me. Due to there being no tight rules on unsigned voting, he tried to use multiple, dissimilar IPs as clear evidence for it. In reality, the IP voter was User:Joshua-029. Since then, you must be signed in to vote, and must have made a certain number of edits within a certain amount of time (to stop any more confusing HotM awards).
5. If you are administrated, what changes do you propose?
- I would like to have more say in some of Halopedia's rules, such as what would constitute an RRAR (Request for the Removal of Administratorial Rights). I would also like to update some of our older templates, and would finally not have to spam the admins with deletion and ban requests. If you check Special:UnusedFiles and Special:UnusedTemplates, you'll see that there is a lot of work to do. "And I'm gonna see it through". Seriously, there was a several month period on a 4000-article RE wiki where there were literally no reports on WantedPages, don't tell me what is impossible.
6. To the best of your understanding, what does administratorship entail?
- I value the honour and respect above a "few extra buttons", as was said in an RfA many years ago (I believe, RyannGreenday's). If I do become an admin here, do not be afraid to ask me questions on how you should edit, or for me to summarise the Halopedia rules for you. I will be monitoring "suspicious edits", mind you, and monitor the counter-vandalism network for them.
7. To the best of your understanding, when will you be able to check Halopedia after you are administrated, in the event that you are?
- I check Halopedia daily, and edit a number of times in a week.
8. What communities are you associated with online, Halo and otherwise?
- I am available on Xbox live and will be more when my sister fixes my home connection after she unplugged it due to the apparent ugliness of the wires. I also use the French and German editions of Halopedia, where I do my best to figure out what they're saying after my language courses at school ended years earlier. Outside of Halo, I edit the Resident Evil Wiki, where I have added several thousand articles personally and enforced official rules there, after adopting it in 2007.
9. What is your familiarity with the Halo universe?
- I 'fell in love' with Halo in early 2003 when I began playing Combat Evolved, which I got for free with my Xbox the previous Christmas. I would purchase Halo 2 the weekend after its release and would play both of the games for many years until I finally got Halo 3 in October 2008. I was told I had to pay for it myself, so £150 in a year sound reasonable enough.
10. What is your familiarity with Wikia and Halopedia policies?
- I, being one of probably ten people, have actually bothered to check the MoS and read Halopedia's rules. I even managed to remember one that referred to Halopedia as democratic, clearly contradicting the "What we are not" page. I can tell what is deserving of an article and what is not. I do not ban IPs for more than three months, as numerous #Wikia staff and other cross-wiki admins have informed me about. I am not afraid to use range-blocks, though I will make sure who I am blocking actually needs one, and in more serious cases, I have asked on #wikia - such as a case in which an IP could take on every single 118. IP, 1/225th of the internet.
11. What is your relationship with the Halopedia community and current administration?
- I have worked well with the administration since my return to Halopedia in early 2008, and have also helped them with some of their problems and provided solutions. Though, my alternative infoboxes using a less spread-out and more up-to-date coding didn't always get through them. Possibly because it would have been them who would have to add it, possibly because my selected skin choice for the prototype was hideous.
12. How may users contact you?
- Many users contact me with hopes that I will assist them, though not much on Halopedia. While I provide help direct on the Resident Evil Wiki, I mostly use the #Halopedia IRC channel if anyone wishes to contact me, since the User talk page was almost completely replaced by the messaging service.
