"Would ONI be tempted by a Spike of Obesience? Or an Omnitab? No great harm would follow from allowing the humans to capture either one."
— The Prophet of Mercy considers allowing humanity to secure one of the Covenant's less valuable technologies.[1]

An Omnitab is a form of Covenant technology.[1] In early 2526 the Prophet of Mercy proposed using either an Omnitab or a Spike of Obesience to tempt the Office of Naval Intelligence into unwittingly revealing one of its primary locations, seeing that no great harm would follow from allowing the humans to capture either one.[1]
