Description
The practice of vertical farming most likely involves filling a multi-story building with artificial farmland or greenhouses, allowing humans to grow a significant amount of food while taking up a smaller amount of space than conventional farming. This practice is well suited for growing food in urban areas or in environments that are not suitable for agriculture.
History
A vertical farming facility was present in Sector 24 of the city of Suraka on the desert planet of Carrow. It was not damaged in the initial Jiralhanae invasion of the city and was therefore used by the Surakan Militia Volunteers to feed the refugees that had fled to Sector 31 of the city.[1]
