Biography

Early life and career

Throughout his life, Toha 'Sumai worked as a bladesman of renown on Sanghelios, bringing great honor to his home province of Bothaes. As a swordsman, 'Sumai had the right to mate with any female he chose, and so fathered Usze 'Taham with the wife of a wealthy merchant from his own keep.[3][5] 'Sumai—under the guise of an uncle—aggressively trained 'Taham in swordsmanship for several years.[1][6] 'Sumai also trained the future blademaster Okro 'Vagaduun during this time.[7]

Death

By March 2555, 'Sumai had passed away -[1] assassinated by his former student, Okro 'Vagaduun. 'Sumai's death was undertaken as part of 'Vagaduun's initiation process to join the Banished. Under the teachings of Atriox, 'Vagaduun was sworn to abandon his former history and notion of honor, which meant he was tasked with killing his former mentor. 'Vagaduun reluctantly approached 'Sumai while saying nothing and the two dueled one another - with 'Vagaduun running 'Sumai through on his energy sword - killing him for the payment of sport and spoils. Following 'Sumai's death, 'Vagaduun took 'Sumai's personal duelist energy sword - which he proceeded to carry with him throughout his career in the Banished.[2]

In the years following the Human-Covenant War, Usze 'Taham worked to preserve his father's legacy.[4]
