Name of article[edit]

I think it should be renamed to just "Spike Grenade" rather then its ONI designation. Anyone agree? Its ONI designation can be mentioned in the article of course, but people know it as the Spike Grenade not the Type-2 Antipersonnel Fragmentation Grenade.

I think we should rename it for the same reasons we dont call the M6D article the Model 6D Pistol, or the S2 AM article the S2 Antimaterial Rifle article. Justin Time 21:49, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Rewrite[edit]

I know i could just do it myself, and i'll try. but can someone rewrite the article, using the Bungie write-up for info? because despite its name, the article is woefully behind. -- SpecOps306 06:34, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

"Like the Plasma Grenade, any player stuck by it will be sent prematurely on The Great Journey." Bravo on the terminology there. Bravo.

Question[edit]

Do you (or anybody else that reads this) know if you can stick the spike grenades into walls and create traps for other players? i dont know, it sounds like it would be fun to just put it into a wall and wait for an enime to walk past unsuspectingly and gep sprayed by a hailstorm of spikes...

Bungie have said it sticks to anything, ie; walls, ceilings, shields, spartans, etc., to i would be willing to bet so. -- SpecOps306 09:04, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

it only works if the person is following you. i like to get people to chase me, look at the celing and walk in zig zag (i get called a newb alot when i do that) then thrown a spike grenade at the celing (ussually followed by my follower's death and an "Oh").Zenix Nitsanekur 19:41, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

if you melee a spike grenade in halo 3 campaign you will get instant death.[edit]

why you can die from hitting a spike grenade from the ground on campaign mode?71.188.34.157 21:06, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

irony[edit]

while the frag is listed and "duel purpous" and the firebomb as "anti-matierial" with the spike and plasma nade both listed as anti-personell this is the exact opposite of their real anti-vehicular abilities. Agent Tasmania 13:18, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Bug in Halo 3: ODST??[edit]

One time I was playing ODST on the level Data Hive, at the bit where theres a whole bunch of brutes and a chieftain with a plasma cannon, a brute threw a spike grenade at me, and it hit me, but instead of sticking me, it simply bounced off...it also happened on Firefight as well...gameplay balance?--Bottletopman 10:33, January 4, 2010 (UTC)

I don't know if it's a glitch or gameplay element but it's possible to melee plasmas if your fast enough and I've seen brutes deflect spikes
