The Ironclad are a multi-species sub-pack within the Banished.[1]
Background
The Ironclad units within the Banished typically focus on heavy-fire and anti-vehicle operations. The Ironclad are most notable for their usage of specialised Mgalekgolo Ironclad units, though they also employ some specialised vehicles such as Ironclad Blisterbacks and Ironclad Wraiths.[1] Ironclad units are typically signified by being heavily up-armored compared to their standard baseline models.
History
Second Ark Conflict
- Main article: Second Ark Conflict
The Ironclad were a part of the Banished force brought by Atriox to the Ark in 2558, and left under the command of Let 'Volir. During the campaign, they were deployed against human forces of UNSC Spirit of Fire. In one such engagement, nicknamed Occatio Blitz, four Mgalekgolo Ironclad were able to escort two Banished tank crews across treacherous terrain to successfully break human lines and capture a key resource site for Let 'Volir. Ironclad Mgalekolo units continue to be employed by Banished commanders across all theaters of war.[1]
