Name[edit]

It was found that in a xbox magazine a new covenant vehicle known as the "vampire" was confirmed to be a anti-aircraft. This could be a possible name for this vehicle. 67.184.16.75 01:23, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

If it can be confirmed to be Vampire, this should be integrated into the article. If not, it should probably be moved back to Covenant Flyer. --Dragonclaws(talk) 08:28, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Its based on a Halo Wars Forum post, where the rest of the information was either already known or reasonable. Perhaps not the best reasoning, so it's not something I'll repeat. On the other hand, it seems to fit the Covenant naming scheme, even if it does sound a little obvious.--CoH|Councillor]] Specops306 - Qur'a UserWiki:Specops306|'Morhek]] 09:26, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Vampire name trivia[edit]

I don't think the Vampire follows the Covenant naming scheme. Covenant vehicles are named after ghosts, spirits and ethereal creatures. Not just monsters of myth.

The scarab. A monster of myth. Also the covenant's largest ground vehicle. The covenant naming scheme seems to just mainly focus around recorded things that have great power, or stuck to stealth. A scarab was a really small bug, so was the locust, hence the naming relation. I recall something about how shades in the old days used to refer to creatures made of living shadow, same with wraiths being shadowy spirits. Spirits were, well, spirits. Then again, the naming structure could in fact be based on things that were seen as unwanted or tabooed. I can not thing of a single covenant vehicle that was not a taboo or unwanted in older days. Vampires, spirits, locusts, and such. Last of my thoughts (I believe this to be the true naming scheme), is the thought that the naming scheme is actually itself a biblical allusion. Most of these things were recorded in the bible at some point. Scarabs and locusts in exodus, vampires and a few more in the old testament, and spirits and wraiths during the time of Jesus in the new testament. ~Blade bane ~ Anti-Vandal~ 12:34, October 17, 2009 (UTC)Blade bane

Crew size[edit]

How do we know the vampire can accommodate 2 pilots in the crew pod? it isn't in Halo Wars anywhere.—This unsigned comment was made by Sallan (talkcontribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Um, we have a source? Its right next to "co-pilot (optional)" in the infobox.--Killamin7 [Comm|Files] 12:09, 5 September 2014 (EDT)
