- "Embroiled in bitter clan wars for generations, the warlords of the Tenrai Fracture now stand united against the invading Covenant barbarians. Forced into an alliance against the relentless Covenant and their colossal glass dragons, the 343 clans of the Imperial Court have shared once-secret knowledge to create new armor and weapons forged by mortal hands but blessed with divine force. It is through these new tools of war, unimpeachable honor, and peerless skill that the clans will fight and win against the invaders and reclaim the seven provinces lost to their depredations."
- — Description of the Tenrai Fracture[1]
Fractures: Tenrai is the first multiplayer Event of Halo Infinite. The first week of the event launched on November 23, 2021 during Season 01: Heroes of Reach. Its content is based on the Tenrai Fractures universe.[1]
Events in Halo Infinite are free limited-time Battle Passes that are active alongside any other owned Battle Passes for a limited time. Each event challenge that is completed advances the Battle Pass by one full level. As there are a limited number of event-specific challenges available while the event is active, completing the entire Battle Pass requires participating in multiple events over the course of a season. During the event, the Shop also features several bundles that are thematically related to the event.

The Fractures: Tenrai event features content from the non-canonical Tenrai Fractures universe.[1]
The Tenrai universe is inspired by samurai and Japanese culture. In this universe, the 343 clans of the Imperial Court once feuded with each other for generations, but united in the face of an invasion by the Covenant. To defeat the invaders, the clans pooled their knowledge and crafted a new type of armor for their samurai warriors: known in Halo multiplayer under the name Yoroi.[1]
