A special Warthog was employed by the members of SPARTAN-II Red Team.[2]
Design details
Red Team's Warthog appears to be a a modified M12 Chaingun Warthog with increased armour and black colouration similar to the Warthog models employed by the Office of Naval Intelligence. It is much wider than a standard M12 Warthog and is outfitted with additional supply boxes. The Warthog also appears to have a primary weapon extremely similar to the M41 Vulcan chaingun with one major difference - the presence of four barrels as opposed to the weapon's usual three.
Operational history
This vehicle was used by Red Team during their initial excusrion onto the outer surface of the Etran Harborage. Whilst following Ellen Anders' transponder signal, the Warthog would crash roughly 100m from the site and later be used by Red Team as cover while the UNSC Spirit of Fire mounted a rescue operation.[2]
