Yo Lcee, just a heads up that HaloCodex most of the time pushs stuff that was already public on the net. I recommend using stuff like Tineye and other reverse image uploaders to try and find the original source when dealing with his posts. :)
I also recommend joining the Halopedia Discord server as we can discuss stuff case by case to avoid what I dub "second hand sources". :)
Try to find homes for your images you upload.
Hi, when uploading images please remember to include a link to the webpage where you got them. We should always be attributing the original authors when possible. Thanks.
When uploading files, we prefix their name with the initials of the media from their from. An image from Halo Reach would be HR_, a file from Halo 4 H4 and so forth. For Infinite images we use HINF_. This is done for organisation, as we often use bots to organise images so by having standardised and consistent filenames we can easily automate tasks. As an example of this, I split up Category:Images of Spartan-IVs into three subcategories for Spartan-IVs in Halo 4, 5 and Online. This task was super easy as I could tell the bot to simply filter all images with "H5G" in the title and change their status.
It's no worries. In general, if you're say, adding an image of ODST concept art, it's good to check the page for ODSTs and ODST armour, as it may be on one or not the other. I mostly manage our concept art side though so I can usually tell pretty quick if something is duplicate or not. Fixing stuff up is a pretty easy task so no worries if something goes amiss.
Also, are you not able to see the link I put in the last message?
