Groombridge-1830,[1] also known simply as Groombridge,[2] is a human colony planet in the Groombridge 1830 system, governed by the Unified Earth Government. During the Human-Covenant War, on December 24, 2530, the Battle of the Great Bear was fought over the planet, in which the United Nations Space Command was successful in repelling the Covenant from Groombridge twice. A Sangheili survivor from a CAS-class assault carrier that had survived re-entry after crash landing on the world was captured from Waterford, Lemuria on Groombridge shortly after the battle, where he would be personally interrogated by Admiral Preston Cole.[1][3]
