Claude "Louis Wu" Errera in the ViDoc O Brave New World.

Claude Errera is the founder and webmaster of halo.bungie.org, a popular Halo fansite. Errera goes by the user name Louis Wu, the name of a character from the book Ringworld, a major inspiration source of Bungie.

Recognition

His devotion to Bungie and Halo earned him a significant amount of recognition by Bungie and 343 Industries and he is often considered the "godfather" of the Halo community.

He received a "Special Thanks" credit at the end of Halo: Combat Evolved. He was interviewed in the Halo 2 Limited Collectors Edition DVD, where he discusses the Halo multiplayer matches he holds with his friends. Greg Bear's Halo: Primordium was dedicated to Claude in recognition for his years of service to the Halo community. He was also given both the Recon armor (before it became publicly available through the Vidmaster Challenges) and a one-of-a-kind "Pro" nameplate by Bungie for Halo 3.

He was also featured in Bungie's twenty-year anniversary ViDoc, O Brave New World. 343 Industries' annual Claude Errera Community Award was named in honor of Errera, and he was also the first recipient of the award at the first Halo Fest during PAX Prime 2011.[1]

There are also several references to Errera in the Halo games. There is a character, Corporal C. Errera, named after him in the Conversations from the Universe booklet. In Halo: Reach, Club Errera, a nightclub in New Alexandria, is named in reference to Claude. Also, the Tribute Room in the level The Package contains a terminal dedicated to him and HBO. One of the human troopers in the game is also named C. Errera, possibly being the same soldier mentioned from Conversations.
