Untitled

This probably isn't talk page worthy, but does anyone know the song that was in the map pack trailer? I don't think it's on the Reach soundtrack. Alex T Snow 16:16, 14 February 2011 (EST)

GRD helmet

I haven't found the "new helmet" on any of the screenshots I've seen. Little help here? --Felix-119 15:49, 6 March 2011 (EST)

Vegerot (talk) 17:50, 6 March 2011 (EST): The Bungie Weekly Update said that there is none.

They said there is none IN THE MAP PACK itself. I posted the pic and Bungie forum link on the Armor Permutations talk page. Alex T Snow 00:11, 7 March 2011 (EST)

Looks like Darth Vader with a new eye. But I still think it looks COOL! I WANT!Fairfieldfencer FFF 05:33, 26 March 2011 (EDT)

Has anyone found out any more info on the proposed new helmets? Since the maps have come out, it seems like the whole issue has gone dark.--UNSCSILVERSTREAK 20:26, 1 May 2011 (EDT)

I havn't heard a thing. Alex T Snow 04:11, 2 May 2011 (EDT)
Well there is a name now for the helmet. Its considered the GRD helmet for now. And also, look at the similarity in these pics. [1] Notice how they both have a eye piece of sorts on the right eye.

Canon Legitmacy

I can definately see that the maps presented in the Defiant Map pack are canon through the use of locations from TFoR, yet I do believe there are, as always, a few major discrepencies. By this I only imply that with the introductuin of these new maps, new material has not only been presented through a gameplay aspect, but also an in-universe aspect as well. For example, the introduction of major technological advancements that were never in place before such as the introduction of human shields assumed present on Gamma Station and even prior on Anchor 9 of the Noble Map pack, even though it was stated that the first human sheild breakthrough was within the Mjolnir Mk V armor system. Does this signify a total revision on human technological advancements as time goes on or is this simply leniancy given to Certain Affinity? This is furtherly supported by the sighting of experimental human teleportation technology found on Highlands which beforehand was exclusive to the forerunners and the covenant. What exactly cna be taken for certain from the new information presented in these novel adapted map locations? --UNSCSILVERSTREAK 00:13, 30 March 2011 (EDT)

I think we have gone over this before Enough with the Halo Reach is not canon crap! Thankyou Forgive My English TALK TO ME BABY 00:15, 30 March 2011 (EDT)
Now, I don't know the context in which the Mark V breakthrough bit was writen, but I would think that it would still be the most significant breakthrough, being able to put shields around soldiers, anchor and gamma just make doors with them basically. And for all we know maybe the human teleporters are really unreliable, or require huge amounts of energy and wouldn't be effective or possible other places, or at least enough to know about. Alex T Snow 04:07, 30 March 2011 (EDT)
I have never considered human teleporters canon, i.e. those on Chiron TL-34. I don't think they are meant to be canon, anyway; they are certainly used for the sake of gameplay. Energy shield "doors" surrounded the atrium of ONI Alpha Site as of October 2552. In other words, the concept has been around since Halo 3: ODST. As Alex T Snow said, the major breakthrough with the Mark V was that the UNSC finally managed to create personal energy shielding device, not that they created shields, period. Creating shield doors and installing them on a critically important space station and a repair and refit platform wouldn't be much of a stretch. After all, Beta-5 had utilized the bubble shield for quite some time, the HRUNTING/YGGDRASIL used the same technology, and SPECWAR Group Three used the less-powerful-though-more-sophisticated drop shield. --"Government big enough to supply everything you need is big enough to take everything you have." -Thomas Jefferson 10:16, 30 March 2011 (EDT)
