Virgil Bernardin is a UNSC Marine sergeant and a member of Hacksaw Squad. During the UNSC's campaign to retake the shield world Requiem, Bernardin and the rest of Hacksaw Squad were deployed to a location on Requiem known as "Fortress." They soon came under heavy attack from hostile Covenant forces. In response, UNSC Infinity sent Spartan Fireteam Crimson to assist the besieged marines. ^[1]
