Saddle boxes are special variants of the Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine used exclusively for military experiments. They are forbidden to be manufactured by civilians, and are so rare that fetcher Oliver Birch had only seen two in his lifetime. A saddle box was mounted on UNSC Dresden.[1]
