This article is about a Forerunner time period. For the achievement in Halo 3: ODST, see Dark Times.
The dark time,[1] or dark times,[2][3] is the translated name for a period after the reintroduction phase of the Conservation Measure. It was a time in which some of the species that were reintroduced into their homeworlds by the Forerunners became extinct.[1] Within the shield world Onyx, before the activation of the rings, the Forerunners had left a holographic message warning of the dark times ahead and blessing the Reclaimers who may take refuge in this shelter.[2] 000 Tragic Solitude, the monitor of Installation 00, chose his name during the dark times when he felt lonely and abandoned by his creators.[3]
