Strongholds was a multiplayer gametype for Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta, that focused on capturing three static territories. Strongholds was featured in week 3 of the multiplayer beta and playable on Eden, Empire, and Regret.[1]
Gameplay
Strongholds played much like Dominion in Halo 4 where you capture a "base" to score points. In Strongholds, the first team to score 100 points won the game. Scoring points required teams to capture a non moving base and defend it from the enemy team. 343 industries says they designed the game type so that it would be hard to control all three points at the same time without stretching your team too thin.[2]
