::That works too. While he indicates he wanted to build a "new Covenant", his plan never got that far. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 00:29, 12 December 2014 (EST) |

Title
While it was me who originally created and named the page, I've never really liked the title. While it's meant to be descriptive and does its job rather well in that regard, it still sounds like something that could too easily be mistaken as an official name, cf. "Reclamation conflict". I've been thinking we could name this like the other Covenant splinter groups ie. "X's Covenant faction", which sounds more neutral. The only issue is that "Xytan 'Jar Wattinree's Covenant faction" is very convoluted (albeit not impossibly so) as the name isn't the easiest to get right (ie. the placement of the apostrophe is pretty random). Thoughts? --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 03:17, 11 December 2014 (EST)
- IDK I kind of like it the way it is, probably because the alternative Xytan 'Jar Wattinree's Covenant faction is just way too long for a page title after we went through the designation shortenings.Sith-venator Wavingstrider (Commlink) 10:10, 11 December 2014 (EST)
- Covenant at/of Joyous Exultation or Joyous Exultation Covenant, since according to the quote the Elite wanted to create their own Covenant. Just a wild thought, you don't even have to pay attention to this if it's worse than the current title. Imrane-117 (talk) 13:00, 11 December 2014 (EST)
- I like "Joyous Exultation Covenant". It's not quite as neutral and precise as "Xytan 'Jar Wattinree's Covenant faction" but it sounds much better. The "alliance" is in any case needlessly general since Xytan's stated intent was to form a new Covenant. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 14:14, 11 December 2014 (EST)
- I'm down with Joyous Exultation Covenant.Sith-venator Wavingstrider (Commlink) 22:01, 11 December 2014 (EST)
- Since it is noted in the article that the alliance undertook purely military endeavours during its time, backed up from what we read in Ghosts of Onyx, perhaps we should instead go with something akin to Xytan 'Jar Wattinree's fleet. Per Wikipedia, it is acceptable in orders of battle for units to be named after its first or current commanding officer, and the unit role and organization. Admiral Wattinree's actions during the Great Schism indicated little else than consolidating the many, wayward, poorly organized fleets liberated by the Sangheili under a single, effective military command. Otherwise, we know nothing about his political or religious policies in-concert with military operations. Helianthus — All right. Shoot!
