:::To be fair, the notion that the SU and the POG are the same organization is one of those Encyclopedia details that originated from a former misunderstanding here on Halopedia (the original source for the two groups, Halo Graphic Novel, Page 122, doesn't indicate that they're the same, which is why I split them a while back). Though the Encyclopedia isn't contradicting anything here, I would prefer we ignored cases like this where the book is simply validating a mistake once made by fans (like the 1st/2nd Battles of Earth), though since it is technically canon it's up for debate. Still, I would leave them separate (with a note to explain what the Encyclopedia has to say and why) unless another, more reputable source confirms they're the same (something that, sadly, happened with the United Rebel Front). --<font color="MidnightBlue"><b>Jugus</b></font> <small>(<font color="Gray">Talk</font> | <font color="Gray">Contribs</font>)</small> 23:26, 17 August 2014 (EDT) | :::To be fair, the notion that the SU and the POG are the same organization is one of those Encyclopedia details that originated from a former misunderstanding here on Halopedia (the original source for the two groups, Halo Graphic Novel, Page 122, doesn't indicate that they're the same, which is why I split them a while back). Merge[edit]
The Halo Encyclopedia states that the Secessionist Union is just another name for the People's Occupation Government (page 44 of the 2011 edition, for reference). Therefore, I think the two articles should be merged (presuming the Encyclopedia isn't contradicting anything). - NightHammer (talk) 18:17, 14 August 2014 (EDT)
- I'm reading the first edition of the encyclopedia and it looks like you're right. However, the wording states that the People's Occupation Government is in fact another name for the Secessionist Union, suggesting that the latter is the proper term for the organization. Helianthus — All right. Shoot!
- Yep, you're right. In that case, the People's Occupation Government should be merged with this article. - NightHammer (talk) 22:24, 14 August 2014 (EDT)
