Eayn is the Kig-Yar homeworld and is a satellite orbiting the gas giant Chu'ot in the Y'Deio system.[1]
Background
Eayn's gravity is about 0.875 G's, making its inhabitants more lightly-built than on Earth. Eayn's atmosphere is rather similar to that of Earth, being composed of oxygen, nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Its surface temperatures range from -18°C to 45°C (-0.4F to 113F). Eayn features two supercontinents, Ah'lomet and Ruuht, and one isolated continent, Ibie'sh.[2]
Chu'ot lies within the inner region of the system's expansive asteroid belt. The world's surface is characterized by a single large ocean, sparse volcanic activity and an almost total lack of glacification. The vegetation appears similar to that seen in tropical rain forests on Earth. About one third of the Kig-Yar population in the Y'Deio system call the satellite their home. The remaining Kig-Yar have set up colonies within the asteroid belt even before their discovery by the Covenant, which helped defend their system due to the Covenant's difficulties of traversing the dense asteroid field with their rather large ships.

Trivia
- Eayn is a fictional satellite of a real extrasolar planet (HD 69830 d), which was discovered in May of 2006.
- The satellite's light gravity is surprising, considering how swiftly Kig-Yar can move in environments with Earth-standard gravity.
