The Mark VIII Cryogenic Suspension Chamber or CSC is the newest model of UNSC-issue cryogenic storage unit. Manufactured by Jakubaitis Standard Systems, it replaced the Mark VII Personal Suspension Unit.[1] John-117 was frozen in one of these tubes for over 4 years aboard the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn after the Ark portal collapsed.[2]
