  • Support.svg Support — Well I guess I can indulge in some ego stroking at least once in awhile. :) Though my only concern about a pre-release Featured Article status are the dips in quality that comes when the game launches. Typically, it takes a month or two before a game page mellows out after its released and I fear that such award, while entirely deserving at the moment, may not be up to our expectations come this fall. Considering E3 2012 starts next week and its been confirmed that plenty of information about Campaign, War Games, and Spartan Ops will be released, I suggest that we hold off any vote until the page is normalized and the editing consistency calms down after new information editing and rewrites. Grizzlei

True, and pages about recently released games tend to be bogged down by the story description for a month, sometimes several. Let's see how concisely the plot can be summarized first. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 14:13, 30 May 2012 (EDT)
If its best to wait, should we hold off this article and nominate another article for now, then bring this article back up in November-December? Instead of it saying Pending, have it say On Hold? --Killamint [Comm|Files] 16:53, 22 August 2012 (EDT)
Good idea. I'm presently looking through our articles to find one to nominate.--Spartacus (Talk | Contribs) 17:14, 22 August 2012 (EDT)

SPARTAN-II Program (closed)

Votes

  • Support.svg Support - As the nominator.--Spartacus TalkContribs 22:22, 8 October 2012 (EDT)
  • Oppose.svg Oppose - The writing is good and the paragraphs through, but the article needs more integrated pictures and the list of Spartan-IIs should have a scroll box added to it. It could also perhaps have these two sections added to it: one about the Spartans' abilites and combat prowess, and another about the perception of them across the UNSC and Covenant. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 00:06, 18 October 2012 (EDT)

Glassing (Won)

Reason: Glassing is one of the aspects where the Halo universe takes a horrifyingly powerful turn. I feel on this article we've managed to fully explain that horror to every detail, as well as reconcile its various discrepancies that have shown up. • Oppose.svg Oppose - Character development in SpartanOps renders it impossible for the nominated article to be considered. It would fail in the immediate category, "Information", where not everything is properly sourced and is open to being altered subject to SpartanOps' episodes. Until the subject's development is stable, I don't think it is suitable. On top of that, the gallery can be shortened by using the Linkbox template and moving the less relevant images into a category (like how we did with other articles). One minor issue is the referencing issue, basically not following the proper format. — subtank 23:35, 28 January 2013 (EST)

Composer

Reason: A well-written article with appropriately-named headings, suitable amount of images, and correct references/sources. The gallery contains a balanced variety of concept art pieces and in-game screenshot when the Composer is in its dormant state as well as when it is being used. All information are sourced with certainty with no questions marks in the Sources section. Last but not least, there hasn't been any new info on the Composer in newer media (like Spartan Ops), so information about the Composer is like when the Composer itself is onboard Ivanoff Station: in a stable state. —SPARTAN331 11:18, 12 February 2013 (EST)

  • Support.svg Support - No objections.--Spartacus TalkContribs 12:34, 12 February 2013 (EST)
  • Support.svg Support - Agreed. Unlike with Dr. Halsey, we probably won't have to deal with new information on the Composer any time soon. As it stands, the article is well written and very informative. --Courage never dies. (talk) 12:45, 12 February 2013 (EST)

  • Oppose.svg Oppose - It's got all the relevant information on the Composer, but the article strikes me as fairly squished otherwise considering it's got only two sections. And as I pointed out below, there's possibly going to be a new addition of information in about a month, and it will likely be a lot, considering much has to be done to reconcile the Composer of Primordium with the weapon of Halo 4. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 13:35, 13 February 2013 (EST)
  • Oppose.svg Oppose - As per Tucker. It's almost the same situation with Catherine Halsey.--Spartacus TalkContribs 13:54, 13 February 2013 (EST)

Won't Silentium be bringing in a lot of information about the Composer? We know it will be involving the events of Halo 4, and have to reconcile them with Primordium. Tuckerscreator(stalk) 14:43, 12 February 2013 (EST)

There's still about a month until Silentium is released! (wink) —SPARTAN331 00:23, 13 February 2013 (EST)
Actually, Tuckerscreator is right. It is quite possible that Silentium will have more information about the Composer that will need to collected and processed. Until then, I would suggest we postpone this as a featured article until Silentium's release. Just a suggestion. --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 00:38, 13 February 2013 (EST)Xamikaze330

I honestly it wasn't all that bad a game, Grizzlei. In fact, I might say it was a little bit better than Halo: Reach. Not a bad start for 343 Industries, if you ask me. --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 13:41, 5 March 2013 (EST)Xamikaze330
Splendid. I myself believed it to be a half-assed experiment in how you can best alienate hardcore fans. Grizzlei
Xamikaze330, I don't think its better than Reach at all and I do believe it is a bad start - in the wrong direction. Reach maintained those core properties that made a Halo game while H4 threw them out the window. Yes I like & play the game but that's just because. However, in the back of my mind I'm always thinking they [343i] could have done better. Read this review all the way through and you may see for yourself how bad 343i messed up.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 05:15, 6 March 2013 (EST)
Well, I did say it was a little bit better than Halo: Reach, like 15-25% better. But I didn't say it was all the way 100% better. There are still many things I wish 343i hadn't done, like for example, not include Theater and Pan Cam modes, or like killing Cortana off. So, in a way, I do and I don't agree on all or some points. --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 11:43, 6 March 2013 (EST)Xamikaze330
That was just my personal opinion in regardes to H4 & Reach. The main thing with 343i is that they did too much at the same time got lazy. They added things to Halo that are un-Halo-like, and cut fun features from the previous games. There was a reason for cutting theater but in true honestly, they had 3 years to figure it out rather than waste time retconing grunts. I just hope 343i learns from their mistakes w/ Halo 5. Otherwise...Destiny awaits.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 12:22, 6 March 2013 (EST)
Indeed. I do agree on both points. We all have our own opinions. I did forget to mention another thing I didn't like about Halo 4 is in the mission campaign level Midnight, in the beginning the player is stuck piloting an F-41 Broadsword starfighter (which is a little nice), but instead on focusing on destroying enemy ships or even enemy weapons emplacements, the player has to focus more on evading obstacles than shooting anything. That's just another I hate. Long Night of Solace was by far more enjoyable. And I prefer New Alexandria over Shutdown, for some odd reason, even though it is nice to finally pilot a Pelican Gunship without the need for glitching. But like I said, we all have our own opinions. --Xamikaze330 (talk|contribs) 12:39, 6 March 2013 (EST)Xamikaze330
I pretty much memorized almost every campaign skip in Halo 4 (except Infinity) and don't even bother going through the missions normally anymore. Midnight, F the obstacles - I exit the playable boundary and fly straight to the composer. As for Shutdown- I fly straight to the third tower. Haven't stepped foot in tower 1 & 2 eversince.--Killamint [Comm|Files] 12:59, 6 March 2013 (EST)

Might as well add that, if more images are needed, then a list should be made available. (reset indent) I added pictures that highlighted critical moments throughout the game. I can add a few more, but keep in mind that there is such a thing as having too many pictures in an article. --Xamikaze330 [Transmission|Commencing] 13:02, 14 August 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
You don't have to add more. I think what you added was enough. Trust me, I know. Learned that from the numerous comments made by Subtank (and she's right). I noticed you added more images than expected. But its kool. I was just looking for those critical images as the original ones I saw were kind-of meh IMO. But you got my vote. :)--Killamint [Comm|Files] 14:37, 14 August 2013 (EDT)
Yeah. I'm glad you caught on. There does seem to be many articles with way too many pictures added. I'm still working on trying to rectify that, with partial success.
