This event began the [[Age of Conflict]], and, after the Grunts were forced back into the Covenant, ushered in the [[Age of Doubt]].
The only other thing known about the Rebellion is that it involved the smallest and most common form of the Covenant, the Grunts, rebelling against the rest of the Covenant. Because the majority of the warriors and workers of the Covenant appear to be these 5 foot tall aliens, this event would have been extremely hard to deal with. It is not known when the Grunt Rebellion took place, but it is a famous event in the History of the Covenant. An Arbiter was created to deal with the rebellion, and it is assumed that he was eventually killed.

It is not known when the Grunt Rebellion took place, but it is a famous event sometime in the earlier history of the Covenant, possibly in the Ages of Doubt or Conflict.

Synopsis

The Grunt Rebellion is an event in the history of the empire of the Covenant. It occurred when the growing Grunt population put pressure on the Jackal population which they shared their habitat with. Apparently, the overwhelming Grunt population forced many of the Jackals to relocate, killing many of their eggs and forcing the Jackal birth rate to decline. In an effort to exact revenge, one of the Jackals poisoned the Grunts' infusion resources, which escalated the conflict between the two species. After the Prophets failed to respond to it (Due to the High Council rejecting the Minister of Fortitude's request to have further investigation done), it escalated into a short, but aggressive conflict, forcing the High Council to elect an Arbiter, but the conflict only ended when the Grunt's homeworld was almost glassed by the Covenant fleet.
